Factions and creative are going away.

This is based on what I read on the extensive Discord conversation we've been having for the past few weeks. Correct me if I am wrong.

Chalkie is working on a new gamemode, although it's not one of the new minigames he promised. This gamemode would replace Factions and Creative. From what I've heard from FlamingPhilip, this gamemode is somewhat like Fallout, a game which I haven't played. He said that Fallout is similar to Factions, but we'll have to see how this will turn out. Chalkie also said that the Factions and Creative servers would still be accessible for a while on a separate server with no admin support.

I don't know when this replacement will happen exactly; as of right now, Chalkie is still finding builders for the new gamemode. My guess is around early next year.

I'm quite disappointed that Factions and Creative will have to go, despite our efforts. Anyhow, I'll still be playing on the server even with the new gamemode, if the server stays cracked. If you still want to support this server, keep voting. Factions and Creative may be gone, but I know TP has yet to reach its full potential.

Chalkie, I support whatever plans you have for this server, as long as it doesn't include adding a Fortnite gamemode.

What do you mean by "new minigames he promised", I thought I made it clear on the post by saying "Just a single dedicated mode with all our focus on that.".

The game mode isn't like fallout, I just happen to show a screenshot that looks similar to fallout as I used a Feral Ghoul as a mob and have been (heavily) inspired by part of their GUI. You can view that picture here.

Yes, for some time the Creative and Factions server will be kept on life support at a different address (example: legacy.terraprimal.com). However, it will/would not be receiving any updates. (Faction software isn't 1.13.x anyway and the dev has been away since Aug). Staff can still play/punish/etc on them.

I already have 2 talented builders and quite a lot of work has been done not only for the actual building, but the mode it's self (a lot of things happen behind the scene(Code, design, payments to people making the art assets, etc)). I can 99% of the time handle most things other then the building. I leave that to the the actually talented people.
Were looking for more to get even more things made before we do a beta release. But I would say that early next year is a decent estimate. I'd love to get it done in time for holidays, however I don't think that's realistic.

I have said from the very first post on the front page what the plan would be and although I appreciate your efforts, nothing has really changed that. We still have a low player base and senior staff such as my self still have work commitments.

We're happy to keep the new server in offline/cracked mode if that's what is wanted (which it seems to be).

I don't really know much about Fallout, so thanks for clarifying.

When I said "new minigames," I was talking about the post you made last year on the home page:
"My plan is to have the Space Combat ready by the end of the first quarter of 2018 with the Primal Hordez not far behind it."

Also, how long would this "legacy.terraprimal.com" server last after the new gamemode replaces Factions and Creative?

All good, I just wanted to add to the post you made to clear a few things up.

Yea, so that was before I decided to change and was happy to continuing on the same path. We got to maybe 75% of space combat before I decided to scrap it. It was quite fun and fairly unique, however I felt the lack of update to the software and the complexity would not make it very popular. As for hordez, it only ever got a a concept phase with a few test weapons.

To be honest, I am not sure. Creative and factions do "suck up" quite a bit of the servers resources (ram, HD, CPU) so it would be partially based on that as well as if anyone is playing it at all.

Good luck with that. I hope to see TerraPrimal with something slightly newer and more interesting. I think it's definitely possible to make one server but that's addictive and habit-forming (let's say). I haven't played TerraPrimal for a bit, even though I have joined once recently to not be too inactive (not sure if that's necessary or not). Anyway, looking forward to the new game mode and I know for sure you won't let anyone down.

I dont know what the game mode would be like, but just confirming - would we be able to move our items/sets/structures from the factions mode to the new game mode incase it is going to be like factions..or would we have to start from ground 0. Is there any article too about this game mode..?

Most of the info on the "new game mode" can be found on the home page in "Terra Primal News".
If you have any further questions, you should probably join the Terra Primal Discord where you will be able to ask questions to Admins (If available).
Although to somewhat answer your question Chalkie stated that "
No more factions, creative, kitpvp, skywars, bedwars, carwars, airwars, spacewars, etc wars. Just a single dedicated mode with all our focus on that.
" That probably means that the "new game mode" won't be factions. Again if you want to make sure, ask one of the Admins and they might tell you more...
